VisitChef - For People with a Love of Gastronomy
VisitChef online magazine is primarily built on unpaid content with the support of major business partners. The magazine format includes four key content types. Quick, concise news stories, called News, provide an overview of current events and are available several times a week. In contrast, events that deserve more attention are elaborated in longer texts. Additionally, readers have the opportunity to watch our video interviews and listen to podcasts featuring various personalities from the gastronomy industry. These formats are published weekly.
Functioning of the Editorial Office
The editorial staff is made up of a broad group of experienced content creators and external contributors. The editorial team is governed by a code of ethics. Compliance with the code of ethics is overseen by an editorial board composed of respected public figures.
Editor-in-Chief
The editor-in-chief of VisitChef magazine is Ján Chovanec, who worked for more than five years in the same position at the print gastronomy magazine Beverage & Gastronomy. He leads an even more interesting team of experts and professionals in Czech gastronomy.
The Owners of VisitChef
Our aim is for VisitChef magazine to sustain itself primarily through the support of our main business partners. However, starting a project like this cannot be done without an initial investment until the number of partners reaches the necessary level. This essential investment has been provided by trusted Czech investors, and part of the stake in the company should be gradually transferred to the key employees of the company, i.e., the editorial staff, over a period of several years.
Code of Ethics
As content creators who love our profession, aware of the irreplaceable role of independent media and that we must not depend on anyone else but our opinions and the truth, we set the following editorial rules and intend to follow them:
We seek out the information we need to write our articles with one motivation: to inform the professional and lay public, as truthfully and objectively as possible, about matters that we believe are important and that we believe should be of interest to them.
We publish only verified information and take care to verify our sources rigorously.
Individuals and companies that we report negatively on are given the opportunity to comment. The fact that those concerned decline to comment to us is not a reason not to publish an article or review.
We write news and reviews with a pre-formed opinion, but our editorial work is guided by the values defined in this Code.
We consistently separate news, takeaways, and opinion pieces. Advertising or any sponsored content is also clearly distinguished.
We are not infallible. If we make a mistake, we will admit it, apologize, and correct it. If you find an error in an article, we would be grateful if you could email us at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
No one from outside the editorial office interferes with the work of the editors or the content of VisitChef magazine. This rule also applies to the owners of VisitChef.
Members of the editorial staff do not write about organizations or groups of which they are members, or about matters in which they have a personal interest, including their civic activities. If this occurs, the reader is always informed of the situation with an explanation.
The editors refer to anonymous sources in their reports only to a minimum extent and only in cases where the public interest cannot be served in any other way. The identity of the anonymous source is always known to the editor of the text or the editor-in-chief.
VisitChef editors consistently protect their sources from everyone, including business owners and organizations.
The editorial office, its operations, and its free production are not defined by any ideology. However, we reject actions that interfere with human rights and the basic functioning of free creative creation. The editorial board does not apply an ideological yardstick in selecting texts but is mindful of defending the values it espouses in this code and reserves the right to reject a text.
Members of the editorial team are mindful of artistry in their public and social media appearances and take into account the fact that they are also perceived as representatives of VisitChef.
