The fourth edition of Mirror Hospitality Expo returns to the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel in Bratislava from May 4–5, 2026, confirming that it has long outgrown the label of a regional bar event. Over just a few years, the Expo has evolved into one of the most influential platforms connecting the global bar, hotel, and gastronomic scenes – and this year’s edition pushes that status even further.
From a Mirror Bar project to an international ecosystem
Behind the concept stands the team from Mirror Bar Bratislava, which has established itself as one of the most respected bars in Central Europe in recent years. A key factor in this rise is the work of its three main organizers – Stanislav Harciník, Peter Marcina, and Adrián Chrzan – whose long-term ability to engage with the international scene, build meaningful connections, and simultaneously elevate the local environment has transformed what was once an ambitious idea into a fully fledged global platform.
Today, Mirror Hospitality Expo is no longer just a showcase of guest bars. It has become a multi-day, concentrated meeting point for people who define modern hospitality – from bar creativity and hotel operations to gastronomy and education. For a few days each May, Bratislava turns into a space where different bar cultures, styles, and philosophies meet in a way that would be difficult to replicate anywhere else with such intensity.
The global bar scene in one city
This year’s lineup confirms that the Expo is curated through a global lens rather than assembled through random selection. Leading figures from Asia, Europe, and other key bar destinations will arrive in Bratislava, each representing a distinct approach to contemporary hospitality.
Asia once again leaves a strong mark – including Agung & Laura Prabowo from Penicillin in Hong Kong, a bar widely recognized for its pioneering role in sustainable mixology and its zero-waste approach within the luxury segment. The Hong Kong and Singapore scene is further represented by Lukas Kaufmann from the iconic 28 HongKong Street, a venue that has long helped shape modern Asian bar culture.
The hotel and fine drinking segment is also strongly represented, notably by Philip Bischoff and Dheeradon Dissana from BKK Social Club in Bangkok, one of the most respected hotel bars in the world. Europe is represented by names such as Jamie Bokhorst and Carmine Marano from Advocatuur in Amsterdam, known for their highly conceptual and detail-driven bar experience, as well as Adrián Michalčík from About Contrast, one of the standout figures of the progressive European bar scene.
They are joined by Jose Olivas (FO+MA) with his experimental approach to modern mixology, alongside other notable personalities such as Eddie Rudzinskas and Adam Eddy Bursik, who continue to bridge different segments of the global bar community.
This mix is no coincidence. The Expo deliberately works with contrasts – combining hotel institutions with independent bars, traditional approaches with experimental ones, and local scenes with global elites. This is where its core value emerges.
Education as a key pillar: The Cocktail Balance
Alongside guest shifts and bar showcases, education plays an increasingly central role, with this year’s program built around two days of intensive masterclasses led by The Cocktail Balance. However, the focus goes far beyond cocktail technique. The sessions offer a broader perspective on how a modern bar operates – from creative processes and operational structure to long-term sustainability and concept development.
This dimension transforms Mirror Hospitality Expo from a festival format into a professional platform with a tangible impact on the industry. Education is not an add-on; it is the foundation of the entire program.
Gault&Millau and the convergence of worlds
A major new addition this year is the partnership with Gault&Millau, bringing a stronger connection between gastronomy and the bar world. This reflects a broader industry trend: the gradual blurring of boundaries between disciplines and the emergence of a unified hospitality experience. The Expo therefore no longer works with cocktails as isolated products, but with the full context of service, pairing, and the gastronomic environment in which they are created.
Bartenders’ Choice Awards as a historic milestone
One of the most significant moments of the 2026 edition will be the inaugural Bartenders’ Choice Awards for the Central and Eastern European region. Created directly by the community, the awards aim to reshape how quality, influence, and talent are perceived across the region.
Unlike traditional rankings or external evaluations, the awards are based on the voice of industry professionals themselves. This creates a new form of legitimacy that could have a lasting impact on bartenders’ careers as well as the visibility of the regional scene as a whole.
Bratislava as a fully established hospitality destination
Mirror Hospitality Expo 2026 no longer needs to be framed as an ambitious project from Bratislava. It is now a firmly established event in the global bar calendar, consistently attracting leading figures from across the industry. This year’s edition confirms that status perhaps more than ever – not only through its lineup or scale, but through the fact that the Expo is no longer entering the global dialogue as an emerging player. It is already part of it.
And once again, at the beginning of May 2026, Bratislava will become a place where the future of hospitality is not merely presented – but actively shaped.
