London’s iconic Lounge Bohemia marks two decades of avant-garde mixology with a series of exclusive Anniversary Sessions created by Czech-born founder and chief mixologist Paul Tvaroh.

Legendary spot Lounge Bohemia, the Shoreditch-based pioneer of avant-garde mixology, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a very special series of Anniversary Sessions. From 2 November to 23 December 2026, the bar will temporarily step away from its usual format to host an intimate, twenty-course cocktail tasting experience created and delivered by its founder, Paul Tvaroh.

Limited to just 10 guests per session, the three-hour experience takes guests on a multi-sensory journey through flavour, texture, scent, sound and visual theatre – bringing together two decades of Tvaroh’s experimentation with the playful, highly theatrical style that has earned Lounge Bohemia its cult following.

From Prague to Tokyo – and on to London

At the heart of Lounge Bohemia is Tvaroh’s fascination with craftsmanship, detail and experimentation. The decision to open his own bar came in 2006, during a flight home from Tokyo, where he had been inspired by the extraordinary attention to detail, artistry and precision he encountered there.

Japan will therefore play a central role in the Anniversary Sessions, with the menu drawing on Japanese flavours, ingredients and aesthetics while reinterpreting them through Tvaroh’s distinctive approach to cocktails.

Guests can expect creations such as volcanos erupting with jasmine liqueur and shōchū bubbles, alongside Campari crystal gyoza dumplings dissolving into an effervescent orange fizz.

When a cocktail becomes an experience

Largely self-taught in the techniques of molecular gastronomy, Tvaroh has spent the past two decades experimenting with textures, techniques and presentation, continually challenging the traditional idea of what a cocktail can be.

“I love creating cocktails that surprise people, tell stories or transport them to a particular time or place. With the Anniversary Sessions, we’re taking the whole experience even further by bringing together taste, sight, scent and sound to create a truly immersive tasting menu,” says Tvaroh.

For VisitChef, the Anniversary Sessions offer a particularly compelling chapter in the story of a Czech-born creator who has spent the past 20 years building one of London’s most distinctive cocktail destinations – while continuing to draw inspiration from cultures, flavours and experiences around the world.

The Lounge Bohemia Anniversary Sessions run from 2 November to 23 December 2026 in Shoreditch, London. Each session is limited to 10 guests.
