For the first time ever, The MICHELIN Guide Czechia 2025 has unveiled a truly nationwide selection of the country’s finest restaurants — marking a historic milestone in Czech gastronomy and cementing the Czech Republic as a must‑visit destination for food lovers around the world.

The highly anticipated guide, revealed on December 11, 2025, in Mariánské Lázně, crowns an array of extraordinary chefs and dining venues from across the country. This year’s edition includes an impressive lineup: 1 Two‑MICHELIN‑Star restaurant, 8 One‑Star recipients, 4 Green Star restaurants recognised for sustainable gastronomy, 18 Bib Gourmand value‑driven establishments, and 52 MICHELIN‑recommended venues showcasing a remarkable diversity of culinary styles.

Papilio: Czechia’s First Two‑Star MICHELIN Triumph

Topping the national roster is Papilio in Vysoký Újezd, just a short drive from Prague. Set in an atmospheric former castle stable with vaulted ceilings and an open kitchen, Papilio earned two MICHELIN stars under the direction of Chef Jan Knedla — an exceptional achievement for Czech gastronomy. The restaurant’s multi‑course tasting menus, artfully paired with wine and tea, reflect a deep celebration of local ingredients and creative technique.

Surrounded by natural and historic attractions — from medieval Karlštejn Castle to the scenic Koněprusy Caves — the Papilio experience combines haute cuisine with cultural exploration, perfect for a gastronomic getaway.

A New Generation of Star Restaurants Across Czechia

Eight restaurants received one MICHELIN star, with six earning this prestigious distinction for the first time. Highlights include:

  • ESSENS in Hlohovec, blending seasonal local produce with modern refinement in a serene setting.
  • Entrée in Olomouc, where an open kitchen invites diners into a dynamic culinary performance.
  • La Villa in Zlín, offering French‑inspired cuisine with Czech roots.
  • Levitate in Prague, where local ingredients meet Asian spices and Nordic creativity.
  • Other notable Prague stars include Casa De Carli and Štangl.
  • Established favorites Field and La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise also successfully retained their Michelin stars, reinforcing Prague’s reputation as a vibrant culinary capital.

Bib Gourmand & Green Stars: Value Meets Innovation

The 2025 Guide highlights 18 Bib Gourmand restaurants, awarded for excellent quality at accessible prices. These include cherished local favorites and exciting newcomers such as:

  • Bar ATELIER & Bistro and Valoria in Brno
  • Šupina a Šupinka in Třeboň
  • Long Story Short Eatery & Bakery in Olomouc
  • MIURA at Čeladná golf complex
  • Výčep and Alma in Prague

This selection offers a compelling flavour map for travellers seeking authentic and affordable culinary experiences.

Four restaurants were distinguished with Green Stars for sustainability, a recognition that celebrates gastronomy that is both inspiring and responsible: Dvůr Perlová voda in Budyně nad Ohří, LEAF and Štangl in Prague, and Sůl a Řepa in Strakonice.

A Culinary Landscape Rich in Tradition and Innovation

With an expanded MICHELIN Guide covering all regions of Czechia — from Prague’s historic heart to Moravia’s wine country and the lively cultural hubs of Brno, Ostrava, and Plzeň — visitors are encouraged to explore beyond familiar routes and discover hidden gastronomic gems.

Czech cuisine blends tradition with contemporary technique, drawing on local ingredients such as wild game, freshwater fish, seasonal vegetables, artisan cheeses, and excellent regional wines. This culinary evolution reflects a broader trend of chefs merging classical approaches with inventive flair, making Czechia an exciting destination for gourmets worldwide.

A Destination for Every Food Lover

The MICHELIN Guide Czechia 2025 is more than an awards list — it’s a gateway to discovering Czech culture through its food, offering travellers an inspiring itinerary of Michelin‑recognised experiences set against the backdrop of stunning landscapes, historical landmarks, and vibrant urban scenes.

Whether you’re planning a dedicated gastronomic tour or adding exceptional dining to your travel itinerary, Czechia’s culinary scene now ranks among Europe’s most compelling dining destinations.
