Prague’s gastronomic scene is getting a fresh boost. On Saturday, 16 May 2026, the first edition of Prague Spirit Fest—a festival dedicated to quality spirits and the culture surrounding their consumption—will take place on the banks of the Vltava. The venue will be the iconic Občanská plovárna, which will be transformed for a single day into a hub for producers, bartenders, and lovers of premium spirits.

The festival will offer a cross-section of the world of spirits—from independent bottlings of Scotch whisky to rums and gins, and even absinthes. Not only importers but also experts from the UK specialising in the selection and bottling of unique whiskies will be coming to Prague. Their presence gives the event a distinct international dimension and offers a chance to look behind the scenes at the creation of some of the most interesting bottles.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, visitors will have the opportunity to taste more than 500 different samples. Such broad representation of independent Scotch whisky bottlers is rare on the Czech scene, making the festival an event aimed not only at enthusiasts but also at industry professionals.

The programme will also feature seven specialist talks focusing on individual categories of spirits and current trends. Capacity has not yet been reached, so registration remains open to additional participants.

The mixology section will be represented by prominent figures from the Czech bar scene. The cocktail menu will be prepared by Petr Gavlík, head bartender at the Michelin-starred restaurant Entrée, together with renowned bartender Adam Huml. Their signature drinks will offer a contemporary take on working with premium spirits.

The atmosphere will be complemented by live music—multi-instrumentalist Jacob Xavier and DJ Josef Baierl will provide the soundtrack for the whole day. Catering for the event will be handled by the Občanská plovárna team, led by head chef Michal Musial.

The organisers have also considered guests’ comfort—water will be available free of charge throughout the event. Tickets can be purchased in advance via the NFCtron platform.

Prague Spirit Fest thus enters the scene as an ambitious project that combines education, tasting, and gastronomy. If the first edition maintains its high standards, it has the potential to become a fixture on the Central European bar events calendar.
