Premier Wines & Spirits is expanding its portfolio with the traditional and historically esteemed Italian brand Mazzetti d’Altavilla. This family-run distillery produces grappas in keeping with Piedmontese tradition. The range will be expanded to include four grappas and the citrus liqueur Limone—five products in total that represent the very best of Piedmont’s distilling heritage.

The Mazzetti d’Altavilla family distillery was founded in the Monferrato area of the Piedmont region, one of Italy’s most important wine-growing regions. Grappa has traditionally been produced here from local grape pomace, with the production process reflecting local craftsmanship. The company’s history dates back to 1846, and the art of distillation has been passed down through the family from generation to generation for almost two centuries.

Production at Mazzetti d’Altavilla is based on a traditional approach that combines respect for raw materials, many years of experience, and modern technology. The grappa is made from fresh grape pomace from selected varieties, distilled with the aim of preserving its natural aromatic profile. Some expressions are also aged in wooden barrels, which lend the spirit depth, roundness, and a complex character.

The brand’s portfolio includes a wide range of grappas, from young, fresh styles to variants aged in wooden barrels, as well as other spirits and liqueurs inspired by Italian tradition. Mazzetti products are prized for their distinctive character, elegance, and ability to express the terroir of the Piedmont wine region.

The range features four unique Mazzetti grappas, from fresh, young distillates to mature reserves that capture the character of the Piedmont region. It is complemented by the citrus liqueur Limone, whose fresh aroma and subtle sweetness pair perfectly with grappa and make it ideal as a digestif or in modern cocktails. The products will appeal not only to the catering industry and specialist retailers, but also to lovers of authentic Italian spirits. They can be purchased from 610 CZK on the website www.1er.cz.
