With just two weeks to go before the highly anticipated announcement of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 in Hong Kong, the organization has released its annual extended list of bars ranked from 51 to 100. Now in its ninth edition, the ranking highlights the diversity, creativity and global reach of cocktail culture – this year spanning 34 cities across the world and introducing 16 exciting new entries.

The USA once again tops the extended ranking with eight bars across five cities, led by New York with four spots, including newcomer Schmuck at No.59. Europe follows strongly with 15 venues, particularly Spain and Italy, each securing four places. Angelita in Madrid (No.51) narrowly missed the top 50, while Florence makes its debut with Gucci Giardino (No.99).

Asia shows a shifting balance of power: for the first time since 2019, Hong Kong leads the region with three entries – Argo (No.56), Gokan (No.70) and The Savory Project (No.86). Elsewhere, Bangkok celebrates two new entries (Dry Wave Cocktail Studio at No.88 and Opium at No.92), while Taiwan joins the global stage for the first time with Taichung’s Vender (No.74).

Latin America is represented by Mexico’s Licorería Limantour (No.52) and five other venues across the country, alongside new entries from Buenos Aires, São Paulo and the first-ever appearances from Medellín with Mamba Negra (No.81) and Bar Carmen (No.100). Africa and the Middle East also continue to rise, with Hero Bar in Nairobi (No.69) and Dubai’s LPM climbing to No.60.

Emma Sleight, Head of Content for The World’s 50 Best Bars, commented: “The extended 51–100 list is another opportunity to celebrate the passion, creativity and world-class hospitality that define the very best in the business. From brand new destinations and emerging markets to beloved favourites, this ranking shines a light on even more of the world’s finest bars.”

The full extended list sets the stage for the live countdown of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025, sponsored by Perrier, which will take place in Hong Kong on 8 October. For the first time since the pandemic, the awards return to Asia, gathering industry leaders, bartenders, and cocktail enthusiasts to celebrate the craft of the bar world. The ceremony will be streamed live on the 50 Best TV YouTube channel, offering a global toast to excellence.
