Slovak bartender Adrián Michalčík, a multiple winner of Norway’s Best Bartender award and the champion of the World Class 2022 World Final, will be behind the bar at Forbíny on 8 April from 8 pm. During his guest shift, he will present cocktails from his new Oslo-based project, About Contrasts, which combines Nordic local ingredients, collaborations with artists and producers, and contemporary bar culture. For one evening, he will bring the flavour and atmosphere of today’s Norwegian bar scene to Prague.

An exceptional guest will be visiting Forbíny bar in Prague at the start of April. On Wednesday, 8 April from 8 pm, Slovak bartender Adrián Michalčík – repeatedly named Norway’s Best Bartender and winner of the World Class title in 2022 – will take to the stage here.

Michalčík will present the cocktail menu from his newly opened Oslo concept, About Contrasts. This innovative hybrid venue combines a daytime café and brunch operation with an evening cocktail bar, whose offering is built on a strong narrative and a distinctive approach to flavours. The concept naturally blends inspiration from both East and West, interpreted through a Nordic lens and grounded in collaboration with local producers and artists. Guests can, for example, experience table-side cocktail trolley service during brunch, highlighting local produce, or explore the unique “creative space” – a hybrid area that functions as a conference room for educational events, an omakase-style tasting table for multi-sensory experiences, and a laboratory facility with a section dedicated to ageing, fermentation and micro-ecosystems.

The venue, co-founded by Michalčík, offers world-class hospitality with a human touch – combining precision, discipline, positive energy and a long-term cultural vision. Shortly after opening, it was also nominated for the Best New Bar Opening in Norway award at the Bartenders Choice Awards 2026.

Adrián Michalčík will also introduce Forbíny’s guests to three cocktails from this concept. “Invisible Spot” combines Diplomático rum with hazelnut, maple syrup, vetiver and oolong. “Silent Paparazzi” is built around Herradura tequila, complemented by rhubarb, melon, raspberry leaves and a gentle fizz. The third drink, “Silver Lining”, blends Gin Mare with notes of pine, nettle, honey and tonic.

A native of Slovakia, he has been practising the craft of bartending for over fifteen years. After gaining experience in bars in Prague, he settled in the Norwegian capital seven years ago, where he went on to win several Norway’s Best Bartender titles as well as the Industry Personality of the Year award. In 2024, Drinks International magazine ranked him among the most influential figures in the bar world in its Bar World 100 list.

The guest shift at Forbíny will therefore offer a unique opportunity to sample cocktails inspired by Nordic ingredients and the philosophy of the new Oslo concept – and, for one evening, bring the atmosphere of the contemporary Norwegian bar scene straight to Prague.
