The Forbína bar in Prague is preparing another high-profile international guest appearance. On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, Barney O’Kane, co-founder of the Parisian bar De Vie, will arrive in Prague. Over the course of a single day, he will showcase his approach to modern bar culture in two formats – an afternoon masterclass and an evening guest shift.

The masterclass will take place from 2 pm and offer deeper insight into the philosophy of De Vie, which is based on the rigorous use of local and seasonal ingredients and a farm-to-glass approach. O’Kane is one of the leading figures on the contemporary bar scene – during his career, he has won, among other accolades, the World’s Best Cocktail Menu at the Tales Spirited Awards 2022 and the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award at the World’s 50 Best Bars 2023. He has long championed sustainability in mixology and, alongside his work behind the bar, is also dedicated to educating and mentoring the next generation of bartenders.

From 8 pm, Forbína will come alive with a guest shift, during which O’Kane will personally present four signature cocktails. The menu for the evening will be based on Gin Mare, Diplomático, Fords Gin and Woodford Reserve, offering a glimpse into De Vie’s approach – namely an emphasis on purity of flavour, working with fresh ingredients and thoughtful sustainability.

Paris-based De Vie has quickly built a strong reputation thanks to its consistent philosophy and emphasis on the provenance of ingredients. For Forbína, this is yet another guest appearance that moves the Prague bar scene towards current global trends while offering the chance to meet the personalities shaping them.
