Even before announcing The World’s 50 Best Bars, the organisation published an extended ranking of venues placed 51–100. This year’s selection highlights the strength of the European bar scene, features 13 new entries and, for the first time ever, includes venues from Accra, Istanbul, San José and Shenzhen in China.
The extended ranking for 2026 comprises 100 bars from 34 cities. Europe is the best-represented region with 18 bars, followed by Asia with 16. The United States has five entries and is once again the best-represented country in the 51–100 ranking. The selection is based on votes from more than 800 independent bartenders, writers, educators and other drinks experts.
Leading the expanded European selection is Tjoget in Stockholm at No. 51, followed by Boadas in Barcelona at No. 52 and Double Chicken Please in New York at No. 53. Italy has four venues on the list, while the UK and Spain each have three.
New geographical additions are also attracting attention. Front/Back and La Borracha in Accra are the first bars from West Africa to feature in this ranking. Bar Gabriel in Istanbul, Otro Bar in San José and MO Bar Shenzhen are also making their historic debut. The Asian scene, meanwhile, confirms its breadth with five new entries, including bars from Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Goa.
From the British scene, London’s Three Sheets (Soho) has entered the expanded ranking at No. 73 and Scarfes Bar at No. 77, while Edinburgh is represented by Panda & Sons at No. 72. London will therefore have the chance to add further venues to the main top 50, the ranking of which remains a secret for now.
The full list of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2026 will be announced on 7 October in Milan. The extended list of 51–100 traditionally serves as a preview ahead of the main event, when the ranking of the world’s top 50 bars will be revealed.
