Premium vodka, a luminous bottle, and a carefully curated pairing with cuisine that pays attention to detail. At Prague’s Buddha-Bar, the Stoli vodka brand takes on a whole new, experiential dimension – from the ultra-pure Stoli Elit vodka to signature cocktails that complement the food with surprising precision.

From precise distillation to an illuminated icon

Stoli vodka has long been a benchmark in its category, but its ultra-premium Elit variant takes the perception of purity and smoothness to a whole new level. It is produced using a freeze-filtration method inspired by ancient Russian techniques – the spirit is cooled to extremely low temperatures, thereby removing even the finest impurities. The result is a silky-smooth texture and a flavour that is surprisingly rounded.

It is precisely this elegance that underpins the Elit Night concept, which has now arrived at Prague’s Buddha-Bar. Here, the Stoli Elit vodka bottle takes on a new form – softly backlit, almost ethereal. As part of the bottle service, it becomes not just a drink, but also a visual object that naturally attracts attention. The evening is thus transformed into a ritual where aesthetics blend with flavour.

We had the opportunity to enjoy these experiences to the full during a tasting visit to Buddha-Bar Prague.

Cocktails that make sense even on a plate

The first drink of the evening bears the apt name Elit Night Drink and is built directly around this ultra-premium vodka. The combination of plum bitters, Lillet, and plum sake creates a harmony in which the vodka does not fade into the background, but instead provides the structure for the entire cocktail. The plum comes through fully—round and slightly sweet—while Lillet adds the final balance. Orange zest then provides a subtle aromatic accent.

This cocktail is served with tuna tartare with truffle, complemented by striking truffle and rice crisps. These are set aside initially and then used as a crunchy tool for scooping up the tartare. The distinctive truffle note works surprisingly well with the purity of the vodka and the cocktail’s fruity profile—together they create a full-bodied taste experience.

The second cocktail, the Jounetsutini, is based on classic Stoli vodka and is one of the venue’s signature drinks. The combination of sake, passion fruit, elderflower syrup, and lime creates a tropical, fresh, and slightly creamy cocktail with a delicate foam. It is no wonder it has been on the menu for over sixteen years—its balance and accessibility make it a firm favourite.

In terms of pairing, it is complemented by the Buddha-Bar chicken salad, which follows the same recipe across all its global branches. Grilled chicken, Chinese cabbage, aubergine, and a dressing with notes of sesame oil, mustard, egg yolks, and togarashi spice create a complex, slightly spicy profile. This pairs beautifully with the fruitiness and acidity of the cocktail.

The evening concludes with the Oriental Tiffany cocktail. Once again based on Stoli vodka—this time with pandan, blue curaçao, and apricot liqueur—the egg-white foam lends the cocktail a velvety texture, while the rose petal adds visual elegance. The flavour profile is sweet-and-sour, with the sweetness of the liqueurs balanced by the tartness of lime.

This is accompanied by meticulously prepared sushi—clean, flavour-balanced, and technically precise. In combination with this exotic cocktail, Buddha-Bar Prague demonstrates its mastery of food and drink pairing. It is not merely about striking presentation, but about a carefully considered interplay of flavours.

The evening as a whole demonstrates that vodka—often perceived as a neutral base—can be a vehicle for a complex gastronomic experience. Combined with a creative bar scene and a kitchen that understands the finer details, the Stoli vodka brand takes on a new, distinctly contemporary context in Prague.
